Our Story
Hi, I'm Mackenzie and I own and run Widow's Jar Bakery out of my home kitchen in Ocilla.
I have been baking since I was a kid in my mother's kitchen, and it has been a hobby of mine throughout the years until God told me to do something with it.
The name Widow's Jar comes from the story in 1 Kings 17 about a widow who did not even serve God who was used to feed the prophet Elijah. She was given a promise of provision during the famine and had to have faith and obey what was asked of her in her most desperate time. Through her faith and obedience we see God provide her daily needs in a seemingly small way; meaning she was not given a huge amount of flour and oil or already baked bread like what Elijah was provided earlier in the chapter, rather, what she already had was sustained daily for "many days".
In the same way, I am learning to trust in God's daily provision, in all areas of life, creating beauty from what I have, with the belief that what I have will be enough with God's provision.
1 Kings 17:16 ''The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of YHVH that he spoke by Elijah.''
